Associate Professor of Biological Sciences, Neurobiology @ USC https://t.co/jt5yZvPG2G
Deeply researched interviews www.dwarkesh.com
Andrew Hires is a USC neuroscientist whose lab built widely used brain-imaging tools and is now using today’s AI to mine massive neural datasets for the principles of biological intelligence, a shift highlighted on June 12, 2025. That makes him one of the few people who can translate real brain data into concrete insights for AI builders right now.
Connectomics is surging, with late 2025 primate mesoscale mapping breakthroughs making cross-species circuit comparisons newly actionable, and Hires can explain what these maps actually mean for cognition and control. Putting him on the Dwarkesh Podcast, a show followed by top AI researchers and tech leaders, could shape research bets and policy conversations this quarter.
If you want smarter science funding and safer AI grounded in real neuroscience, support this nomination today.
